Our aim and purpose is to support the work of Chogoria Hospital in Kenya, in a partnership of prayer and action.
Friends of Chogoria Hospital is a Scottish charitable trust set up in 2007 to be an active link between the people of the UK (and beyond) and Chogoria Hospital in Kenya. This Christian hospital was started in 1922 by a Scottish missionary doctor, and for more than 80 years there were Scots among the foreign doctors helping to bring medical care to the people in the Chogoria area, on the eastern slopes of Mt Kenya. Now the hospital is entirely run and staffed by Kenyans, and the needs are just as great, for trained staff, equipment, and the resources to meet the challenges of improving the health of that community.
The aim of Friends of Chogoria Hospital is to develop a practical partnership between the people of Chogoria and others who wish to support the work of the hospital in prayer and in practical ways; to enable and equip the staff of Chogoria to continue to promote health, and provide compassionate medical care, in the name of Christ, to all who are in need.
If you are interested in getting involved, in visiting Chogoria, or in contributing in any way, please read on. You are very welcome – Karibuni.
